In Loving Memory of Surinder Kumar
June 6, 1944 – October 31, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Surinder Kumar, whom we lovingly called Bau Ji. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully at the age of 80 after a courageous one-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Bau Ji was born in Punjab, India, and dedicated his life to his family and friends.

Bau Ji is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Asha; their six children, Munish (wife: Punam), Kiran (wife: Monika), Anupama (husband: Vikas), Rajiv (wife: Priyanka), and Neetu (husband: Abhishek); Shivani and 12 cherished grandchildren: Rohit, Reena, Heena, Rahul, Anishika, Keshav, Diya, Piya, Ansh, Sarvesh, Arjun, and Aarav. He is also survived by his brothers, Pardeep and Rajinder Kumar, who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Bau Ji started his journey as a young adult and moved mountains to provide for himself and his beautiful family. He was a man who never gave up and continued to fight until he could no longer do so. As the owner of multiple convenience stores, his work ethic was indescribable. Beyond his professional life, Bau Ji was an avid gardener and loved to be at the center of the dance floor. He never allowed people to sit down at parties, always saying, “Everybody dance!”

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bau Ji’s life at Hurley Funeral Homes on Monday, November 4th, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM, located at 134 S. Main Street, Randolph, MA 02368. This will be followed by the service on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, at 10 AM, at Braj Mandir Sri Radha Bhakti, 711 S Franklin Street, Holbrook, MA 02343.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hurley Funeral Homes in Bau Ji’s memory.

Bau Ji will be remembered for his unconditional love, infectious smile, kindness, humor, and unwavering support. He touched the lives of everyone he met and will be deeply missed.
