Stephen H. Gallagher

Stephen H. Gallagher, of Holbrook, passed away unexpectedly August 1, 2015 at the age of 62. Born in Boston, Steve was raised in Dorchester and educated at Boston English High School and Suffolk University. He worked for Roche Pharmaceuticals for 30 years. Steve was a resident in Holbrook for 33 years, where he was active in Holbrook sports programs, St. Joseph’s Church, various Holbrook committees, and was a former three-term School Committee member. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Dorchester Yacht Club.

Beloved husband of Patty (Doyle) Gallagher. Loving father of Jeanne Moore and her husband Matt of Holbrook, Brendan Gallagher and his wife Gina of Hanover, and Terence Gallagher of Holbrook. Devoted brother of Paula Skellett of Plymouth, Debbie Cummings of NJ, Paul Gallagher of E. Taunton, Susan McLaughlin of Holbrook, and the late Karen Fisher Allen. Son of the late Henry and Hazel (McDonald) Gallagher. Dear grandfather of Bridget, Gavin, Tommy, Finley, and Henry.

Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt.37) Holbrook Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 9:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Holbrook at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 4-8pm. Interment Union Cemetery, Holbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory can be made to the Stephen H. Gallagher Memorial Fund, 2 Dalton Terrace, Holbrook, MA 02343 – this fund will benefit the Holbrook Public Schools Music Program.
