Sean F. Griffin

Passed on June 23, 2023
Resident of Randolph, MA

Sean Francis Griffin, a kind and loving man, passed away far too soon on Friday, June 23rd 2023 at the age of 53. Born in 1970 to Carolyn and William Griffin, Sean was raised in Randolph, MA. He graduated from Randolph High in 1988 and happily never left. He loved his hometown.

Sean was a wonderful man with a true love of family. He treasured his life partner, Sandra Powell, and the amazing home they shared in Randolph. It is there where they welcomed friends and family for swims in the pool, yearly 3rd of July celebrations, and endless summer cookouts. Home was his haven. It is there where he loved, cherished and nurtured his granddaughter, Aria. Sean “Buelo”, loved taking Aria to and from school and her many activities, most recently, hockey. She was a constant source of joy to his life, made so obvious in the large family text string where he would proudly keep all up-to-date on Aria’s latest adventures.

Sean was the family ringleader. He was the guy who texted “Happy Friday” and the weekly joke. He was the one who celebrated all family birthdays with the Jib Jab pie-in-the-face. He also proclaimed, “Pool’s open, all are welcome” every early summer. He will be so missed.

Sean leaves behind his long-time partner, Sandra Powell, her daughter Brittany and his beloved granddaughter, Aria. Beyond his immediate family, he leaves his sister Kathy Crowley and her husband, Mike, his brother Bill Griffin and his wife, Sue, and his sister-in-law, Denise DeMartini, Sandra’s mother Alina Vazquez, brother Patino “Pete” Vazquez, Aunt Merci Humphrey, and really great childhood friends .He also leaves his many nieces and nephews. Brendan Crowley and his wife Ashley, Erin Crowley and Ryan Crowley, Derik Griffin, Liam and Michaela Griffin, and Jack and Caitlin Corrigan as well as his many cousins. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Bill and Carol Griffin, his brother, Scott Griffin, and his cousin, Kevin Corrigan.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Aria’s school which is a great community at Saint Mary of the Hills School, 250 Brook Road, Milton, MA 02186

Services are being held, Saturday July 1st from 9-11 am, immediately following after the ceremony you can come to Sean and Sandra’s home to share wonderful memories.

Sandra, I’m so sorry. I can’t believe this. Sean was one of the best guys I’ve ever known in my entire life. Even though it’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other, you guys are often in my thoughts. I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve been been living overseas for the last couple of years. I wish I could be there with you. God bless.

Seanie Boy you will be forever missed. You were an amazing friend, uncle & of course brother in law (my favorite, hopefully Bill won't read these comments but seriously the best friend a person could have) You made everyone smile & laugh. You made everyone feel so comfortable. Thirty years ago the Griffin family welcomed me in with open arms. You were a brother to me from the start. I feel blessed to have so many memories of us. Scott loved you so much, please give him a giant hug and kiss for me. I hate that this is happening again but I'm trying to find comfort in knowing you two will be together watching over all of us. So don't be getting your drink on all day, you two have work to do! I love you always Xooo

Sean was always so nice. I remember back in high school whenever I’d see him he was always smiling. Sean and I had our very first “date” in first grade when his parents took us for pizza. So very sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family. May he rest in peace-Julie Greco Sullivan.

  11. Michael & Valerie Ware
    Norwood, MA |

Hi Sandie, Val and I, and the entire Ware Security team, send our deepest condolences for the sudden loss of Sean. Our hearts are heavy today as you mourn his transition home. Val and I believe that when someone passes on in this life we like to use the phrase "they have transitioned home". I also share with you a quote from the Bible that gives Val and I comfort in times like this: "TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY IS TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD". This tells me that Sean is now in a place that he can share eternal happiness, joy, love and peace until you both reunite again. We love you my sister! Ware security will happily make a donation the the Arias School for $500 dollars in Sean's name.
