Pasquale A. Mancuso

March 21, 1950 – October 28, 2026
Resident of Avon, MA

Pasquale A. Mancuso, 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Avon on October, 28, 2026, following a four year battle with cancer, which he met with courage and strength. He was born in Boston on March 21, 1950 to the late Anthony J. and Jean D. (Voto) Mancuso. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Karen (Melsky) Mancuso. Pasquale (known as Pat to his friends and family) moved from Medford to Braintree while in Junior High School and was a graduate of Braintree High School class of 1968.  Following high school he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for twelve years, including two years active, until his honorable discharge. A Vietnam Era Veteran, Pat served as a storekeeper and his home port was Newport, Rhode Island.

After moving to Braintree, Pat met his longtime friends, Michael Reece and John Tosi. He later enlisted in the Navy with Michael and they both were stationed on the USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. a U.S. Navy destroyer where they were assigned to a seven month Mediterranean Cruise. Pat and Michael later visited the navy ship, which is currently a public museum at Battleship Cove in Fall River and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Proud of his military service, Pat often wore his cap with the logo “USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. DD850”and frequently was thanked for his military service.

A graphic artist by trade, Pat worked for over 30 years, for Modern Graphics, Inc. in Weymouth. He also has an Associates Degree in business, from Newbury Junior College.

Pat and his wife Karen settled in Avon in 1975 where they have lived for over 50 years and raised their son Nicholas P. Mancuso. A devoted father and husband, one of Pat’s passions was caring for his yard and home which he kept in pristine condition. Pat looked forward to packing up his camper and taking his family on vacations to New Hampshire, Maine, and Cape Cod. They also loved the thrill of visiting amusement parks.

Proud of his Italian heritage, Pat spoke fondly of his maternal and fraternal grandparents and visits with his maternal grandparents in East Boston and their variety store. His fraternal grandparents lived next door to the family in Braintree and Pat worked with his grandfather in construction.

Pat especially enjoyed his time as Assistant Scout leader for Troop 69 in Avon where his son was a boy scout. His hobbies included bowling and golfing, especially with his golf buddies, Michael Reece and Kevin Quill at Strawberry Valley Golf Course in Abington. He also looked forward to weekly pizza with his friends. Later in life he liked the challenge of playing games on his IPad and phone.

Pasquale is survived by his wife Karen (Melsky) and son Nicholas P. Mancuso of Avon; a brother Anthony M. and his wife Fern of Florida; his sisters Roseann Wiles and her husband Christopher of Florida and Elma LeVangie and her husband Daniel of Holbrook; brother-in-law Gerald Melsky and his wife Mary Ann of Lexington; nephews and nieces including Ariana and Allyssa Mancuso; Emily and Catherine Melsky.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Currie Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook on Saturday, November 7th from 9:00-10:45am followed by a funeral procession to a graveside service at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, online at dana-farber.org.
