Maureen Elizabeth (Carr) McKeever, of Randolph, formerly of Toronto, Canada, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 11, 2025.
Maureen was born in Ottawa, Canada on August 7, 1951 to parents Phillip and Margaret Carr. She was the loving wife of nine years to Richard McKeever also of Randolph.
Stepmother to Celynne and Wesley Lawler of Wiscasset, Maine, Leslie and Richard Rodrigues of Cohasset, and Greggory McKeever and his partner Susan Devine of Wareham.
Lovingly known as GramMo to her grandchildren: Coyle, Holden, Edyth, Esta, Leif, Evergreen, Ari, Eva and Magnolia.
Sister to John Carr of Bermuda, Joyce Pernokis and Phillip Carr of Canada. Survived by her children Aaron Palmquist of Vancouver, British Columbia and Nicole Palmquist of Los Angeles.
For many years Maureen successfully owned and operated the Creative Needlework shop in Hamburg, New York, affectionately referring to her customers as “Hamburg’s Happy Hookers”. In addition, she worked several years as a professional in the construction industry and later as an executive assistant in the aerospace industry until her retirement in 2015.
Besides needlepoint, Maureen enjoyed music, cruising, Facebook, dining and dancing, driving her sports car and all her extended friends and especially those of the Randolph Elks as a member. She was also very proud of her American citizenship and was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish in Randolph.
Maureen will be remembered as a kind, warm, outgoing and loving friend and wife.
Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph, on Wednesday, January 22nd at 9:45am followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church, 211 North Main St., Randolph at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 21st from 3-6pm. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, 44 Meetinghouse Lane, Scituate, MA.
