Ligia Filomena Lopes Hall

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Ligia Filomena Lopes Hall, who left us peacefully on April 15th, 2026, in her home in Randolph, MA. Born on August 25th, 1957, in Brava, Cabo Verde, to parents preceded in death, Antero Lopes and Yolanda Nunes Thompson. She was a woman of remarkable strength, love, and faith.

Ligia, affectionately known as Mena or Mama, dedicated her life to her family. She was a devoted wife to Michael J Hall, Sr. who greets her in heaven, and a strong, nurturing mother to Angelic “Angie”, Michael, Jr. “Mickey”, Ligia “Christian”, and Andrew. Phenomenal grandmother to Alex Jr., Anthony Jr., Angelo, Amena, Natalia, Avian, and her bonus grandchildren Amora and Amelia. Mother-in-law of Anthony “Tony” Rosa and Alex Matta.  Also survived by her siblings Alcione Feijoo, Lidia Lopes, her amazing brothers John Lopes, Robert “Rui” Lopes, sisters Alvair “Vai”Lopes, Janda Shepard, Licia Cunha, stepbrother Robert Thompson, her sisters-in-law, Kelly Lopes, Robin Zack Lopes, her many brothers-in-law, and countless nieces and nephews who she loved as her own, cousins, and all of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her best friend and older sister, Dirce Kierstead.

She was known for her amazing abilities to crochet, artistic creativeness, her contagious laugh, and her generous spirit.  Ligia will be deeply missed here on Earth. Now she rejoices with the Lord, restored and healthy with her true love and husband, Michael, her parents, stepfather Bobby Thompson, sister Dirce, mother-in-law Virginia Hall, and all the people she’s missed dearly.

Grief is the final act of love we have to give to those we love. Where there is deep grief, there was great love.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph, on April 27, 2026, from 11am-2pm.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
