Letizia (Lee) (DeVanna) Persechini 90 years old of Avon, MA passed away Monday morning, September 26, 2022, after a brief illness. Lee died peacefully spending her final moments in the company of her two devoted sons and their wives.
Beloved wife of fifty-one years to the late Robert D. Persechini, daughter of the late Phillip DeVanna and Angelina (DeBartolo) DeVanna. Lee was born in Roxbury, MA where she lived for many years. She graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Roxbury. Over the years Lee worked as a telephone operator in Boston, secretary for Liberty Mutual – Boston and Morse Shoe Company in Canton, MA for over 20 years.
Lee enjoyed spending the winter with her husband in Lake Suzy, FL where she loved playing bocce, bingo, and having a great time with all of the snowbirds from the North. Her getaway travels to Newport, RI in the spring and Ogunquit, ME in the fall were her favorites. She would never turn down the opportunity to play the penny slots when she had the chance. Lee loved to cook and crochet. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Bruins, and New England Patriots.
Most importantly, Lee treasured her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lee is survived by her two sons, Robert J. of Abington and his wife Therese, Mark P. of Middleboro and his wife Lisa. She was mother to the late Angela (Persechini) McAlarney and her husband Steve. Lee also leaves behind her seven grandchildren Melissa, Ryan, Erica, Andrew, Craig, Kayla, and Kristin. She also leaves behind her thirteen great grandchildren Kadence, Ariana, Alissandra, Noah, Lucas, Thomas, Luca, Matteo, Gavin, Brooks, Greta, Ruby, and Angela who knew and loved her as GiGi.
Beyond her immediate family, Lee was beloved by her extended family her late sister Nancy (DeVanna) Rosa, her late brother Samuel DeVanna and her many nieces and nephews.
Lee’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the medical staff and friends that were involved with her care over the last few months.
Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Wednesday, October 5th at 9:45am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael Church in Avon at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 4th from 4-8pm. Interment St. Michael’s Cemetery, Avon.
