Lawrence G. “Bubba” Lohnes, 71, beloved husband of Kathleen (Albert) Lohnes for 51 years, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 2, 2021.
Born in Boston, son of the late George & Mary (Caulfield) Lohnes, a graduate of Avon High School Class of 1967, he lived in Avon for the past 55 years. A retired Boston Firefighter, Bubba lived every one of his days to the fullest. He was an avid golfer and longtime member at D.W. Field Golf Course in Brockton, Randolph Elks, the Board of Directors at Anchor House in Plymouth and a proud member of the Boston Fire Department Aerial Drill Team. A friend of Bill W.’s for over 30 years, he was forever grateful to the program and for all of the people he met through it.
In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he leaves behind his children who loved him so much, Kenneth Lohnes and his wife Millie of Avon, Stacey Peloquin and her husband Jeffrey of Stoughton and Shannon Oteri and her husband Paul of Avon. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Lohnes, Alex & Kyle Peloquin, Madelyn, Kathie & Christine Oteri and joins in heaven, baby Anthony Oteri.
He leaves his loving siblings; Mary & Dwight Hutchinson, Pat Lohnes and Dolly Elms all of Florida, Paul & Tina Lohnes of Tennessee, Donna & the late Frederick Ballantyne of W. Bridgewater, Jane & Jay O’Neil of Bridgewater, Tom Lohnes & Lynne Connolly of Randolph, and Barbara & Wayne Bernasconi of Dennis. He is predeceased by brothers John & George. He leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Tuesday, March 9th from 4:30-7pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Covid-19 precautions will be in place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bubba’s name to Boston Firefighters Local 718 Children’s Fund, 55 Hallett Street, Boston MA 02124.
