Kathleen M Kenney

Kathleen M. Kenney

Passed on August 12, 2024
Resident of Raynham - Avon - Brockton, MA

It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen M Kenney of Raynham, formerly of Avon and Brockton, announce her passing on August 12,2024 at age 74. Kathy was born in Boston to the late Thomas M and Mary (White) Kenney.

Kathy grew up in the town of Avon where she became lifelongfriends with Lynda, Gail, Marianne, and Karen. Neighbor Patty Olson was also a family friend for over 60 years. Kathy was a proud member of the AHS class of 1969. She looked forward to the class reunions and attended all but one. After graduation, Kathy began a 38-year career with the Federal government. She started with OSHA and moved on to the Office of Economic Opportunity and retired from the National Labor Relations Board in 2008. Her retirement celebration was held at The Fours in Boston, where her work family and biological family agreed: Kathy made all of us better. She brought the best out in everyone.

Family was very important to Kathy. She never missed a family event and was always ready to brag about the latest accomplishments of her siblings, nieces, nephews, or cousins. She was our calendar, as her memory of important dates was second to none, and our “Facebook” before the current one. She also helped Hallmark turn a profit every year, never missing to send cards on holidays, birthdays, or anniversaries.

Kathy watched every episode of AGT, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. She also enjoyed watching reruns of Hazel and Leave it to Beaver. Kathy seldom talked about herself; she was more interested in what you had to say and loved relaying your story to others. She was a great listener and a loyal friend.

Kathy leaves her 3 Brothers (affectionately known as “The Boys”), Tom, Jim (Mary) and Joe (Tracy), and her dear Sister Ellen Cadigan (Brian). Kathy was a devoted Godmother to Joseph T Kenney and Christina Cimino (Jay) and the adored Aunt of Katelyn, James Jr. and Kathleen Kenney, Jenna Aspros (Teddy, children JJ and Katherine), William Kenney (Rahela, daughter Suraya) and Kayla Cadigan. Kathy was predeceased by her dear friend and sister-in-law Joan. Our world was a kinder place with Kathy Kenney in it. She will be missed.
