Julia B. Hillman Dunn

Julia Bell (Hillman) Dunn was called home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2023,
at the blessed age of 97. Julia was born on January 8, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois. She
was the daughter of the late Mr. Willie, Sr, and Mrs Bessie Mae (Gray) Hillman.
Her family moved from Chicago to Roberta, Georgia when Julia was a young girl. She
lived in Robert, Georgia until she was 18 when she moved to Boston, MA in February
1944. She met the love of her life Cicero Dunn, Sr in 1945, and was married on December 20th, 1946. They were married for fifty-seven years when Cicero Dunn, Sr went home to
be with the lord on May 9th, 2004.
Julia worked at the Navy Yard in Watertown, MA when she first came to Boston, BF Goodrich, Watertown, MA, and 15 years at Hit or Miss where she retired on June 26,
1992.
She became a faithful member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Julia enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, traveling, and talking with friends and family on the phone. She had a generous spirit and a pleasant personality. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Julia leaves to cherish her memory four children, Cicero & Gail (Herring) Dunn of
Nashua, New Hampshire, Henry Dunn of Hampton, Georgia, Charles & Carmen (Evans) Dunn of Randolph, Massachusetts, and Warren Chesson & Anita (Dunn) Chesson of Randolph, Massachusetts.
Grandchildren; Charles DeJarnette, Vashti Gray, Percy Herring, Tanya Chesson, Jermaine Chesson, Angelica Smiley, Shanelle Smiley, Aziza Williams, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Julia precedes her six sisters: Mattie West, Mary Battle, Bessie Walker, Lillian Hillman Colbert, Fannie Prater, and Wilhelmenia Raines all of Roberta, Georgia. Three brothers:
Willie Hillman, Jr of Framingham, Massachusetts, Fletcher Hillman, and Walter Hillman
of Boston, Massachusetts. Sister-in-law Barbara Hillman of Dorchester, Massachusetts,
and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends
A funeral mass will be held at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Brockton on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 10am at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
