Josephine Johnston of Randolph, Massachusetts died peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 95. Josephine was born on June 10, 1931 in Boston to Italian immigrants James and Filomena Mattiaccia. Josephine was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She shared 68 years of marriage with her husband, Joseph Johnston, with whom she raised two children. She was an avid Red Sox fan and loved antiques, crafting, and trips to Foxwoods Casino.
Josephine is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Johnston, as well as her parents: James and Filomena, her sisters: Camilla Keating and Catherine Mattiaccia, and her brother, Joseph Mattiaccia. She is survived by her children: Anna Jacobs (husband Ralph) and Joseph Johnston (wife Kathleen), her grandchildren: Kathryn Cervelli, Jacob Johnston, and Joleen Johnston, and her great-grandchildren: Alice Cervelli, Vincent Cervelli, and Scottlynn Johnston.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph, Massachusetts on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, between 8:30 and 9:30am. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Mary Church in Randolph at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A burial will be held at 1:15 pm at MA National Cemetery in Bourne.
