John F. “Jack” Handrahan
Passed on October 19, 2025
Resident of Randolph, MA
John F. Handrahan, of Randolph, passed peacefully on October 19, 2025, surrounded by his family. John, “Jack”, was a successful businessman. He owned and operated his own HVAC business, Mercury Mechanical, alongside several family members at various times. He enjoyed skiing, golfing, boating, racquetball and summer nights on the Cape with his friends and family. Jack was a hard-working man who instilled his work ethic in all his children. He also taught his kids to balance working hard with having fun.
He was funny, stubborn in the best way, and always true to himself. He was a man who loved his routines, his family, and a good Manhattan. He was known for his sharp wit, old-fashioned values, and larger-than-life personality that made everyone feel welcome in his company.
He brought laughter and warmth wherever he went, with jazz on the radio, and a twinkle of humor that never faded.
Jack is survived by his five children and his amazing former wife: Margaret Curran of Braintree, Scott Handrahan and his wife Sheila Handrahan of Hanover, Lauren Cape and her husband Dr. Christopher Cape of NH, Justine Handrahan of Providence, RI, Jillian Handrahan of Braintree, and Jason Handrahan of Braintree. Brother of Sheryl O’Neill and Kathy Swanson. He is also survived by his granddaughters Kylie and Ellie Handrahan of Hanover. He is predeceased by his mother, Jeanette Handrahan and his father John Handrahan of Randolph.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Friday, October 24th from 3-6pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s memory can be made to St. Jude via stjude.org/donate.
