John E. Hunt

Passed on December 21, 2024
Resident of Holbrook, MA

John E. Hunt, of Holbrook, MA, peacefully passed away at home on December 21, 2024 at the age of 65 after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.

Born on August 25, 1959, in Brockton, Massachusetts, John was the youngest of five siblings. Growing up he enjoyed playing football and street hockey. As he got older, he took an interest in playing darts, which is how he eventually met his wife, Patty (Szczesny). They later settled in Holbrook, where he would spend the rest of his life. John was a devoted husband and father and always put his family first. He also was a pet lover, and enjoyed the company of his two dogs Jada and Dakota.

He loved bowling and was a member of many leagues at Westgate Lanes in Brockton. He also enjoyed watching sports and above all, spending time with his family.

He took great pride in his lifelong career in the electroplating industry, where he finished metal parts to be used in a wide range of industries. These projects ranged from decorative pieces for local manufacturing to components used in the Mars rovers. His deep knowledge in his field and innovative way of thinking allowed him to perform work that others thought impossible.

John was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Cecelia (Gonsalves) Hunt, as well as his brothers Robbie and David. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patty, his son Chris and wife Brittany, his daughter Ashley and husband Mark, his sister Diane and husband Steven “Barney” Landry of Bridgewater, his brother Gary of Brockton, and his many nieces and nephews.

John will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A private service will be held for the immediate family.
