James “Jim” Hanlon

James “Jim” Hanlon, 64, a resident of Abington, died unexpectedly in his home on May 6, 2026. Jim was born on July 6, 1961 to the late Edward and Blanche (Connolly) Hanlon of Randolph.

Jim was a graduate of Blue Hills Regional High School, class of 1979, where he played on the basketball team. He went on to work for many years in the concrete supply industry before moving onto various construction roles. Jim was always there to lend a helping hand for friends and loved ones, as he was skilled in auto repair, carpentry amongst other talents. In 2009, a serious motorcycle accident left him with a debilitating spinal injury. Jim continued to show dedication to family by helping them in any way he could. His passing leaves a gaping hole in the hearts of those who loved him.

Beloved brother to Patricia Morrissey and her late husband Edmond Morrissey of Randolph, Edward Hanlon and his wife Karen Hanlon of East Bridgewater, Carol McCusker of Brockton, Kathleen Collins and her husband Donald Collins of Stoughton, and Karen McElroy of Abington. Loving father of Michelle Hanlon and her fiancée Jason Kelley of Abington and the late Nicole Hanlon of Abington. Cherished grandfather to Shane and Jace Kelley of Abington, as well as Bently O’Malley of Abington; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Former spouse of Paula (Johansson) Hanlon of Abington.

Visiting hours will held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Wednesday, May 13th from 4-7pm.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  Interment private.
