James H. Leonard, of Brockton, passed away May 25, 2026 at the age of 84. Beloved and devoted husband of 62 years to Lynda Marie (O’Connell) Leonard. He leaves behind two children, Caralee Ann Leonard and James H. Leonard, Jr., both of Brockton, and one granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Leonard and her partner Corey Albanese. He is also survived by his niece Kimberly (Miller) Paoleti and her husband Pete of Chesterfield, NH, Kathleen (Leonard) Hanley and her husband John of Kirksville, MO, Jon Leonard and his wife Suezy of Amherst, NH, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his father, Harold Leonard, his mother, Abigail Leonard, and his two brothers Gerald Robert Leonard and Frederick William Leonard. He was a lifelong member of the 1st and 2nd Marine divisions as well as the South Shore Marine Corp League.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Currie Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook on Monday, June 15th from 4-7pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A graveside service will be held at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday, June 16th at 10:45am. Late US Marine Corp Veteran. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ memory can be made to Toys for Tots.
