James H. Eames, Senior Deacon, of Randolph, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 7, 2017. He was 85 years old. Born in Boston, Deacon Jim was raised and educated in Hyde Park and was a resident of Randolph for 60 years. After serving in the Korean War with the US Air Force, he worked as a manager at New England Telephone Company. In 1986, he was ordained as a deacon, serving at St. Mary’s Church in Randolph. Jim ran the Boston Marathon, coached CYO baseball, and was an avid sports fan who especially loved the Cape Cod Baseball League.

Beloved husband of the late Rosemarie (Gauss) Eames. Loving father of Lauren Eames and James D. Eames and his wife Lisa, all of Randolph. Devoted brother of late Doug, Ralph, Phyllis and Barbara. Dear grandfather of Jacquelyn, Nicole, and Matthew, and great-grandfather of Lillian and Nathan.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Randolph on Wednesday, April 12th at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday, April 11th from 4-7pm at St. Mary’s Church. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers, donations in Deacon Jim’s memory can be made to St. Mary’s Vincent DePaul Charities, 22 Seton Way, Randolph, MA 02368. Arrangements handled by the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph.
