Growing up next door to the Ficarra’s, my memory is I’ve known them my whole life. I never knew Mr Ficarra not to have a genuine, warm smile each time I saw him.
He would sincerely ask us how we were doing, always with great positive energy. He cared for their home meticulously with never a complaint. The devotion Mr and Mrs Ficarra had to each other was an example in my life of a true love story that never faded. That is my lasting memory, that they were a couple who enjoyed and cared for each other always and his ever present smile. Things won’t be the same on South Street.

I will miss my yearly visits with uncle Jim. He always had a way to make me laugh. Great guy will be missed.
