James F. Hurley, Jr., of Rockland, formerly of Holbrook, passed away January 7, 2017 at the age of 79. Born in Boston, Jim was educated at Christopher Columbus High School and attended Northeastern University. He worked in the electrical design and engineering field. Jim and his wife, Nancy, raised their four children in Holbrook, where he resided for 35 years. He was a member of the Holbrook Sportsman Club and the Dorchester Yacht Club. Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, and watching the Patriots. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Beloved husband of the late Nancy (Donelan) Hurley. Loving father of James Hurley and Susan Duffney of E. Bridgewater, Patrick Hurley and his wife Mary of Braintree, Bridget Bartlett and her husband Jeff of Abington, and the late Paul Hurley. Devoted brother of the late Joanne Iverson, Mary Frangie, and Ellen Scholl. Dear grandfather of Kerrin, Patrick, Colleen, Ryan, Sean, and Laura.
Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37) Holbrook on Friday, January 13th at 9:45am followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Holbrook at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday, January 12th from 4-8pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, W. Roxbury. Late US Air Force Veteran.
