Irving Richard Merrilles, age 80, of Randolph, Massachusetts passed away on August 9, 2026. He was born on August 1, 1946 in East Falmouth, Massachusetts. Richie is survived by his children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his two lovely sisters, Shirley Delibero from Milton, Massachusetts, Louise Ramos from New Bedford, Massachusetts, and many more family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 4-7pm at The Hurley Funeral Home 134 S. Main St. Randolph, MA 02368.

Richie and I met in 1991 and became close fiends over the years . Rich was a person that was caring and could brighten your day, and make you want to be around him. I will miss our weekly calls and going to his house for coffee. God Bless you My Friend.

I was introduced to Richard in the early 2000’s by his niece. We immediately hit it off. I would call him Sir Richard, because of the great respect I had for him.
He was like a dad and mentor . I appreciate all the advice and knowledget hat he instilled in me. I’m sad, and at a lost. I’ll miss him sincerely. REST IN PARADISE

From the very first moment we met Richie commanded my respect and admiration. The most important quality a man must have is humility – and that was Richie. A man of superior emotional intelligence it was always a joy to be in his presence. Never an uncomfortable moment, was always easy to be on the same page with him. Will be keeping thoughts of Richie close to my heart.
