Guadalupe Rivera Cruikshank, 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

The daughter of the late Genoveva (Barrera) and Miguel Rivera, Lupe was born in Elmendorf, Texas and raised in San Antonio. Lupe met Robert Sanford Cruikshank Sr. while he was stationed there at Kelly Air Force Base. They moved to Bob's native Massachusetts and were married for 44 years until his death in 2000.

She was a homemaker, then a secretary for the Avon Board of Selectmen and later the Avon C.O.A. She was a member of the Avon V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, the Avon Garden Club and St. Michael's Church in Avon.

She loved to work in her garden, organize bingo trips for the seniors, play the slots and watch her beloved Red Sox and Hallmark movies.

She was the youngest of seven, her siblings include the late Delfina Rivera, Simon Rivera, Miguel Rivera, Florencio Rivera and she is survived by siblings Genoveva Schlerandi Hawkins and Manuela Weaver, all of Texas.

Lupe is also survived by her 6 children; Charmaine Cruikshank and her partner Graham Watson of Taunton, Sharon Crump and her husband Michael of Flower Mound, TX, Karen Cruikshank and her fiancé William Hooley of Brockton, Ann-Margaret Malone and her husband Edward of Whitman, Robert S. Cruikshank Jr. and his wife Sybil Shearin of Somerville and Tara Ventola and her husband Steve of Everett, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She loved to spoil her grandchildren; Cassandra Cruikshank, Brittany Rodriguez, Emily Crump, Philip Crump, Amy Munstis, Christina Sablevicius, Kelley Curtis and Stephen Malone and especially her great grandchildren; Conrad, Grace, Owen, Leah, Zoë, Elliot, Louis, Walter, Evelyn and newborn Holden.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and her sister-in-law Josephine Carcerano-Cruikshank. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Wednesday, August 22nd at 9:45am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Avon at 10:30. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lupe's memory to St. Michael's Church, 87 N. Main St., Avon, MA 02322.
