Elsie E. Conrod Morrill

Elsie Elizabeth (Conrod) Morrill died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday Aug. 13. She was 84.

Elsie, a lifelong Randolph resident, was born on Tower Hill, Gold Street in Randolph on Dec. 17, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Duncan and Elizabeth (Faunce) Conrod. Her great-grandfather, Hiram Faunce, was the last Civil War Veteran of Randolph when he passed in 1938. Her family on her mother’s side could be traced back to the Mayflower and ship Ann.

Elsie loved to travel and she visited 25 states, including Hawaii and Alaska, and 7 foreign countries. She worked as a commercial driver for 57 years. She drove school buses in Randolph for 15 years, the Logan Express buses for 8 years and Commuter and Tour buses for 20 years. After her retirement, she drove the Randolph Senior Center Medical Van for 14 years. She was also a member of the Randolph Women’s Club (Ladies Library).

Elsie was the loving mother of Richard Morrill and his wife Jean of Hanson, Bonnie McCarthy of Randolph, Robert Morrill of Randolph and the late Russell Morrill and his wife Suzanne of Hanover. She is also the grandmother of Richard and Lisa, great-grandmother of Courtney, Cassidy and Nicholas, and the sister of Gerry Conrod and his wife Donna of Randolph and Doris Sampson and her husband Frank of Duxbury.

A funeral service will be held in the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rte. 28) Randolph on Monday, Aug 21 at 10 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-8pm. Interment in Central Cemetery, Randolph. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Elsie’s memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, 10 Chandler Street, Boston, MA 02116.
