Edward A. Hanlon, Sr. of E. Bridgewater, formerly of Randolph, passed away December 31, 2017 at the age of 94. Born in Boston, Edward was raised and educated in Somerville and was a resident of Randolph for 45 years. He retired from the City of Boston as well as being the St. Bernadette’s Church Sexton. Edward enjoyed bingo, going to Foxwoods, and most of all, he loved raising his children.
Beloved husband of the late Blanche (Connolly) Hanlon. Loving father of Patricia Morrissey of Randolph, Edward Hanlon, Jr. and his wife Karen of E. Bridgewater, Carol Hanlon McCusker of Brockton, Kate Collins and her husband Donald of Stoughton, James Hanlon of Easton, and Karen Hanlon McElroy of Abington. Devoted brother of the late Francis, James, and John Hanlon, Mary Hegarty, Theresa Buckley, Eileen Boudreau, and Margaret Roche. Also survived by 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook on Saturday, January 6th at 9am followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Holbrook at 9:45am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 5th from 4-8pm. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph. Late US Navy Veteran. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s memory can be made to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Ln., Hyannis, MA 02601.
