Dorothy E. Walsh, of Avon, passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 13, 2017. She was 90 years old. Born, raised, and educated in South Boston, Dorothy was a 1943 graduate of South Boston High School. She was retired from the Randolph Board of Health and volunteered at the Avon Senior Center and St. Michael’s Bazaar. Communicant of St. Michael’s Parish. Dorothy loved shopping, dancing, watching the New England Patriots, and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie Oliver and beloved wife of the late Vincent B. Walsh. Loving mother of Jean Sobell of Stoughton, Vincent Walsh of Stoughton, Kathleen McIsaac and her husband James of Avon, and David Walsh and his wife Maryann of Stoughton. Devoted sister of the late Joseph Oliver, Louise Perley, William Oliver, Elsie Blakeslee, Robert Oliver, and John Oliver. Dear grandmother of Amanda, Kelly, Patrick, Shannon, Shawn, Brian, Thomas, and Kathleen. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the, Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28) Randolph on Saturday, February 18th at 9:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Avon at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, February 17th from 4-8pm. Interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. Michael’s Church, 87 N. Main St., Avon, MA 02322.
