Colleen Marie (O’Connor) Weeden of Cohasset, formerly of Avon and Brookline, passed away on February 10, 2018 after a brief illness at the age of 55. Born in Boston, Colleen was raised and educated in Avon and later graduated from University of Massachusetts, Boston in 1994. During her career, she worked for Gillett, John Hancock Financial Services and Sappi Fine Paper North America in Boston. She also taught second grade the Brookline elementary school system. Colleen was a strong supporter of the Christmas in the City children’s charity in Boston. In addition, she was an avid long distance runner completing many local road races as well as 13 marathons (including 10 Boston Marathons) between 1997 and 2006. She is survived by her husband, Bob Weeden of Cohasset. She was the loving daughter of Sheila (Hegarty) O’Connor of Harwich and Patrick F. O’Connor Sr. of North Carolina; predeceased by her brother, Patrick O’Connor Jr., she is also survived by her sister, Holly Reardon her nephew Jackson Marcus Reardon and many cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 15 from 5PM to 8PM at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 South Main Street (Route 28), Randolph. On Friday, February 16, the funeral procession will start from the Hurley Funeral Home, at 9:15AM followed by a funeral Mass at St. Marys Church in Randolph, at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Colleen’s name to Christmas in the City Children’s Charity, 45 Franklin Street, Boston, MA 02110 or on-line at www.christmasinthecity.org.
