Charles ‘Charlie’ F. Lane

Charles “Charlie” Francis Lane, 84, beloved son of the late Margaret Haggerty and John Lane of Dorchester, MA. Brother of the late Eleanor, John Jr, Thomas and Margaret all of Dorchester, MA and also the late Elizabeth Lane of California.

Devoted husband of 52 years to Joan P Leary and father of Michael and his partner Naomi Carton from Cambridge, MA, David and his wife Melissa of Tewksbury, MA and Chuck and his fiancée Carol Terrazzano from Plymouth, MA. Devoted grandfather to Garrett and Brady Lane of Tewksbury, MA and Makayla Lane of North Providence, RI.

Charlie grew up in South Boston and Dorchester, MA. He graduated from South Boston High School and later joined the US Navy, proudly serving during the Korean War. He was employed with Stop N Shop and Boston Edison for over thirty-one years before retiring in 1998.

Charlie was involved with his three sons as they participated in sports (Baseball & Basketball) and Boy Scouts. He enjoyed the family trips to the Cape, NH and Maine.

He retired in 1998 then had an unfortunate stroke on Christmas day the same year. After the stroke, Charlie enjoyed watching the History Channel as a military buff and enjoyed the few trips to Maine, North Carolina and Florida.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Wednesday, March 10th from 5-7pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Covid-19 precautions will be in place. A private funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 11th. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to the Indian Children or ASPCA.
