Cathy M. Greene
Passed on May 31, 2026
Resident of Holbrook, MA
Cathy Marie Greene, of Holbrook, passed away on May 31, 2026, at South Shore Hospital after a brief illness. Cathy was 45 years old, but always young at heart. Beloved daughter of Marie (O’Connor) Greene and adoring sister of Aidan Greene and his fiancée Priscila Pereira. Cathy joins her loving father, Peter and her grandparents, Andrew and Winifred O’Connor and Patrick and Bridget Greene in heaven. Cathy will be deeply missed by her many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins both near and abroad.
Cathy was born at Saint Margaret’s Hospital in Dorchester, MA and lived her early years in Quincy before moving with her family to Holbrook. Cathy was a proud graduate of Holbrook High School, class of 2002. She went on to work with Road to Responsibility for twenty-two years, where she appreciated the kind staff members and enjoyed spending time with her numerous friends. Cathy had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making other people laugh. Cathy was very social, she enjoyed bowling, riding her bike (especially if the exercise earned her a sweet treat after), bingo with her Mom, attending parties, testing her luck at scratch tickets, eating tasty food, and dancing.
Cathy loved to visit Ireland to see all of her extended family there. She especially loved her time on the farm, visiting the animals. Her favorite animal was a dog, and she never met a dog she didn’t like, although German Shepherds were by far her favorite. If you had the blessing of knowing Cathy, you know how much she loved bright colors, especially pink and purple. Her bright spirit will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Cathy led a good life which all are invited to celebrate. Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Currie Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook on Saturday, June 6th from 9-11am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Avon at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment St. Michael’s Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Cathy’s name to Road to Readiness.

Marie, you were an exceptional mother to Cathy. Your love, devotion and constant care for her throughout her life will never be forgotten. You always included her in everything and ensured she was loved, supported and encouraged every step of the way.
