Bernard Francis “Frank†Saccoach Jr., of Holbrook, passed away December 28, 2016 at the age of 78. Son of the late Bernard Francis Saccoach Sr. and Helen (Breen) Saccoach. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol (Clasby) Saccoach and his sons Michael Carter and his wife Joan of San Diego, Thomas Saccoach of Holbrook, and Scott Saccoach and his wife Jean. Loving grandfather of Breandan, Daniel, Connor, Jared, Riley, Delaney and Kerrigan. He was the brother of Audrey McGowan, Cathy O’Brien, Carol Westhaver, Michael Saccoach, and Deborah Applegate and predeceased by Helen Dion, Peggy Malone, Arthur Saccoach and Karen Saccoach.
Frank was born in South Boston and grew up in the Houghs Neck area of Quincy. He graduated from Quincy High School and joined the United States Marine Corps where he graduated as the Honor Graduate (1st) in his class. He went on to become a champion boxer in the Marine Corps and a member of the New England Chapter of the Golden Gloves Association. After his honorable discharge from the U.S.M.C., Frank was employed by the Pneumatic Scale Company and later the Massachusetts Air National Guard. He retired after 25 years of military service and remained an active member and Steward of the Abington Knights of Columbus. Frank will be remembered by all for his unconditional love for his family, his devotion to his beloved grandchildren, but perhaps most especially for his world-famous, incomparable (extra-special, double secret) homemade clam chowder.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday, December 31st from 1-3pm at the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment private. Late US Marine Veteran.
