Alfredo Neves Leitao, of Brockton, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease at the age of 84. Alfredo was born and raised in Cape Verde and was a longtime resident of Brockton. His love for the art of cooking turned into a wonderful career as a well-known chef. His love for his family will be greatly missed.
He was the beloved husband of the late Dulcidia O. (Pereira) Leitao; loving father of Alfred P. Leitao and his husband Norman Berthel , Richard P. Leitao and his wife Tiffany, Deborah M. Chaplin and her husband Frank, Suzette M. Leitao and her wife Robin McGee, Arlene P. Leitao and her companion Bonnie Erickson; Grandfather “Gramps†of Kevin Chaplin and his wife Michelle, Nicole Palizzolo and her husband Ryan, Ariel Leitao, Ricky Leitao, Zachary Leitao, Faith Leitao and Great-Grandfather of Jack Palizzolo. He was the devoted son of the late Teofilo and Flora Leitao. Loving son in-law of Leopoldina and the late John Pereira. Loving brother of Cerila and her husband the late John Leighton, Carlos Leitao and his wife Maria Regina, the late Guiherme Leitao and his wife Lucy, the late Dulcidea Leitao, the late Julietta Silva and her husband Jorge, the late Arilda Mascarenhas, and the late Anna Leitao. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Friday, December 28th starting at 9am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Avon at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
