Alfred M. Holbrook Jr

Alfred M. Holbrook Jr. died peacefully on February 21, 2022. Loving husband of Jean M. Holbrook, beloved father of Michael D. Holbrook and his fiance Debby R. Morrison, and the late Timothy A. Holbrook. Grandfather of Ashley, Nicholas, Natalie, Zachary, and Landon Holbrook, and valued uncle to Bonnie Schenck and all his nieces and nephews. Predesceased by parents Alfred M. Holbrook Sr. and Virginia (Schuster) Holbrook, beloved brother Arthur Holbrook, Andrew Holbrook, and sister Marilyn Schenck. Al grew up in Randolph and graduated from Randolph High School in 1957. He was employed by New England Life Insuarance company for 29 years and retired from Siemens Technology in 2008. A devoted christian, he was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Randolph and most recently the First Baptist Church of Hanover, where he sang in the choir at both churches. Alfred was an avid reader of fiction books, such as Stephen King, and loved movies of all kinds. He was an avid fan of Boston professional sports teams, as well as the Atlanta Braves and New York football Giant’s. He also enjoyed golfing, spending time with family, and candlepin bowling. He competed for many years in leagues at Wright Brothers Bowling Alley in Holbrook. Visiting hours for Mr. Holbrook are on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm at Hurley Funeral Home, 127 South Franklin St, Holbrook, MA, 02343. A memorial service will take place at 11am on Saturday at First Baptist Church in Hanover, 580 Webster St, Hanover, MA, 02339. In leiu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church in Hanover.
