Thomas H. Joyce

Thomas H. Joyce, of Weymouth, passed away at home on August 1, 2025, surrounded by loving family after a long illness at the age of 85.

Born in Charlestown, Tom attended St. Catherine’s School in Charlestown and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Cambridge.  He went on to attend St. John’s Seminary in Brighton for 5 years.

Tom was a dedicated employee of Honeywell for 49 years.  After his retirement, he worked at Fenway Park for 13 seasons, the last 10 of which he worked as an usher—making lots of friends with his co- workers and season ticket holders.

Tom was a faithful parishioner of St Jerome’s Parish in North Weymouth as well as a volunteer with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.  Tom was loved by all who met him and he had a gift of making people laugh and helping people.  The times that he was surrounded by friends and loved ones has created countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Mary “Queenie” (Tolson) Joyce, his children Lauren Joyce of Weymouth, Christine Joyce of Weymouth, Kevin Joyce and his wife Julie of Marshfield, and Erin Joyce of Weymouth.   Loving Papa to Shannon Bralley of Weymouth, and Eamonn, Colin, Teddy, and Frankie Joyce of Marshfield.   Son of the late John and Agnes (O’Toole) Joyce. Loving brother of Bartley Joyce of Burlington, John Joyce of Tewksbury, and Maureen Joyce of Myrtle Beach SC.   Predeceased by his siblings Peter Joyce, Paul Joyce, and Ann Joyce, as well as sisters-in-law Charlene Joyce and Joan Joyce.   Loving brother-in-law to Marion Joyce and Judy Joyce.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces great-nephews, cousins, his cherished Tolson in-laws, as well as many treasured friends.

Visiting hours will be held at St. Jerome Parish in Weymouth on Thursday, August 7^th from 4-7pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  A funeral mass will be held at St. Jerome on Friday, August 8^th at 10:30am.  Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.  In Lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s name can be made to Norwell VNA and Hospice via nvna.org or St. Jerome Parish, 632 Bridge St., Weymouth, MA 02191.
