Theresa L Tempesta (1)

Theresa L. (Polvere) Tempesta

August 25, 1924 – January 20, 2025
Resident of Randolph, MA

Theresa L. (Polvere) Tempesta, beloved daughter of the late Donatangelo Polvere and Maria (D’Antonio) Polvere, passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Loving wife of 57 years to the late Jack Tempesta and extraordinary mother to Theresa Penney and her late husband Bud Penney, of Bridgewater, the late James Tempesta, of Randolph, Marie Conrad and her husband Richard of Randolph, and Daniel Tempesta and his wife Christine of Plymouth.  She was revered by her grandchildren, Jacqueline, Neil, Justine, Ben, Jimbo, Crystal, Mike, Rebecca, Christine, Jim, Danny, Anthony and Lauren. She adored her great grandchildren Reese, (king) Lucca and her newest great-grandchild AJ. She is also survived by her sister Viola and her husband Anthony Orlando, of Quincy, who she loved dearly.

Beyond her husband, the greatest love in Theresa’s life was her children and by extension her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them unconditionally and protected them with the fierceness of a mama bear and that included her children by marriage. She prayed that she would stay well to take care of them and never become a burden. Even at 100 years old she would try to make her children’s lives as easy as possible.

Theresa’s parents taught her to be strong and persevere through whatever life threw her way and that family is everything. Throughout her life she maintained amazing relationships with her seven siblings and all of her in-laws. They took trips together, partied together and shared everyday life together. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law were truly like another dad and mom to her. She respected them and loved them until the day they died.

She was an avid Catholic TV fan. She watched the mass every day, sometimes more than once if something special was happening.

Theresa was a big supporter of the Mass State Lottery! She saw “good” numbers everywhere and she had her own ‘Lucky’ numbers she played regularly. The Mass State Lottery is in mourning!

She was also always up for a “quick run” to a local casino with her sisters or basically anyone who would join her! She wanted to “Hit Big” so she could share the money with her family and make their lives easier.

On her 100th birthday in August she celebrated with a party that included all of her family, including nieces and nephews, and friends, during which she had everyone laughing, smiling and shaking their heads in amazement of how graceful, joyful and just overall amazing someone could look and act at 100 years old!

She was an inspiration to all who knew her. If she knew you she loved you and you couldn’t help but love her back.

She lived a wonderful life and will be remembered and missed by all.

Dear Dan, Marie, Terry & all the family,

I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved mom, Theresa. She was a very special person & treated everyone with kindness & compassion & like family. I just couldn’t believe how vivacious she looked & acted at her “100”th birthday party. You would not believe she was 100!
I am really glad we got to talk on the phone after her party a week or so ago. We compared notes on scratch tickets. She was winning & I was losing!
She will be missed by all that knew her & remembered for the wonderful person she was.
May her Memory be of an Eternal Blessing.
    Yours in sorrow,
    Robin Shaer-Torpey
