Susan Lynn Staffier McAdam Cummings, 52 of Holbrook, MA passed away peacefully at her twin sister Laura’s house on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Susan was the beloved wife of Jeffrey Cummings.
Born on December 17, 1969 in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of Thomas Staffier, Sally Ann Staffier and the late Valerie (Jones) Staffier.
Susan was a graduate of Fredericton High School, class of 1987. Susan also attended Norfolk Agricultural school and went on to have a fulfilling life as a leader of custodial services at Massasoit college in Canton, MA. In fact, she was often referred to as the “road runner” due to her high energy and willingness to take on challenges to ensure the students and faculty were in an environment ready to learn, she loved her job! “If you have time to stand around then you should be working”
A resident of Holbrook, MA for the last (7) years, she lived with her Husband, Lefty her beloved Cape parrot, Chewy her dog and the late Jenny her dog as well. Susan’s love for her animals was one of her many passions. Lefty and Chewy will miss her very much. Susan’s younger years were spent in Randolph, MA.
Susan had many passions but none bigger than her love for her son Nicholas, her daughter in law Justine and grandchildren, Summer Lynn and Madelynn. Susan’s devotion to her son who is the love of her life will carry on forever. Her son Nicholas would always speak very highly of his no nonsense upbringing and the love of his Mum throughout his life. Susan was a single mother and always put Nicholas first. Susan had very realistic expectations for Nicholas and she is so proud of his many accomplishments as a son, father, husband and overall great “kid”
Susan enjoyed many activities outside of work. Susan loved anything lottery related. She visited local Casinos, played the slots, liked scratchers and the daily numbers. In fact, within the last three months during her long battle with cancer, she visited Mohegan Sun with her family where they all celebrated her life and enjoyed being together. Susan was a fighter until the very end! She got a lot of her inspiration and strength to live from her late mother Valerie or Val as she liked to be called. Susan often spoke of her mother and remembered the positive impact that Val had on her life.
Susan loved her Family and friends and enjoyed time with them on Lake Winnisquam in NH where she and her family would make yearly visits. These yearly visits were inspired by her late grandfather, Dr. Staffier also known as Papa. Susan spent several years in Fredericton, New Brunswick and was also influenced by her late grandmother Jenny Saulnier, grammy and her husband Harvey, grampy. Her time in Canada and NH were very special to her.
In addition to her husband, Jeff, she is survived by her beloved son Nicholas and his wife Justine and grandchildren, Summer and Madeline. She was the sister of Laura Roukas, her twin and her husband Sam. Her brothers, Thomas and wife Jolene, Paul, John, David and his wife Dee and Jamie as well.
