THE BEST BROTHER IN LAW A GUY COULD ASK FOR WE WILL BE TOGETHER SOON IN HEAVEN OF COURSE.
To my friend and co-worker Jeannnine Helen, and the family of Robert J. Matthew Jr. Jeannine, my heart goes out to you in this moment of loss. Though I never had the honor of knowing your father, Robert, I can see his legacy living on through you. In your kindness, your empathy, and the way you influence those around you, he continues to sail on.
As sailors, we know the sea teaches us many things—strength, resilience, and humility before forces greater than ourselves. Your father clearly instilled those same lessons in you. And because of that, even those of us who never met him have been touched by his life.
So today, from one sailor to another, I say: rest well, Robert. May you find calm seas and fair winds on your eternal voyage. And Jeannine, may you always feel his steady hand at your back as you continue to chart your own course.
Just saw the obituary. I worked with Bob at the East Weymouth Post Office. He was a very nice guy, easy to talk with, always ready to smile and just had a good outlook on life. Rest in peace, Bob.
