Michael Naughton

Passed on March 23, 2025
Resident of Randolph, MA

Michael Naughton passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2025, at his home in Randolph Massachusetts at the age of 81.

Michael was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, neighbor, and friend. He left his home in Rusheeney, Oughterard, County Galway in his twenties for Boston, Massachusetts where he met and married Ellen (“Eileen”) Lonergan and raised three children in Randolph, Massachusetts. He was a hard-working carpenter that built churches and housing, still seen today across the city skyline. Michael was passionate about family, never missing sporting events or milestones of his children and grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and truly enjoyed playing with his buddies at Presidents Golf Course. A lifelong fisherman, he loved his trips home to Ireland to fish on Lough Corrib. His home in Randolph was always the center for holiday gatherings filled with love, laughter, songs and stories – often with him leading on the tin whistle or squeeze box. His unparalleled giving nature, devotion to family, commitment to supporting others, and sense of humor left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Eileen, devoted father of Stephanie and husband Michael McLaughlin of Braintree, son Michael Naughton and wife Mollie of Milton, and daughter Tara Naughton of Hoboken, New Jersey. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Sean, Tim, Connor, Nora, Luke and Jack. Loving brother of Mary McKeeney of West Roxbury, Peggy and her husband Richard Hefling of Wilbraham, Bridget and her husband Jim McDonald of Randolph, Peter and his wife Ann of Co. Galway, Ireland, and Murt Naughton of Roslindale, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Bridget Naughton and sister Rita Boland of Co. Galway, Ireland.
