Mary A. Keeley Gordon

Passed on April 10, 2024
Resident of Pocasset - Holbrook, MA

GORDON, Mary Ann, of Pocasset (formerly of Holbrook), passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, surrounded by family. Mary was a gentle soul who dedicated her life to her faith and family. She was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on May 8, 1931, to Thomas and Cecelia Keeley. As a child, Mary was formed in the Faith as an active parishioner at Saint John the Baptist Church in Quincy. She graduated from Quincy High School and then attended the Chandler School for Women in Boston. She loved the Boston Red Sox and experienced the magic of Fenway — as a child with her Dad, and as a 92 year old with her children and grandchildren.

She worked as a secretary in her younger years. However, her true vocation in life was being the devoted matriarch of a large family, raising seven children with her loving husband John W. Gordon (deceased). She raised her family in Holbrook and continued her active journey in faith with John and their children at Saint Joseph Church and School. She also served as the Parish Secretary for many years. Later in life she enjoyed winters in Naples, summer Saturdays at the Chart Room, and any day with her grandchildren.

She was a devoted mother to: Mary Jane Brouillard and husband Tom (deceased) of Plymouth, Marcia Carchidi and husband Mark of Sandwich, Thomas Gordon and wife Cynthia of Monument Beach, Stephen Gordon and partner Michelle Moulton of Falmouth, Elaine Swanson and husband Kristian of North Conway, NH, Timothy Gordon of Falmouth and partner Phyllis Pappas of Plymouth, and Richard Gordon and wife Maura of Charlton. She was the proud grandmother of 23 grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Beloved sister of Marjorie Yelmokas of Naples, Florida, and mother-in-law to Meg Gordon and Nancy Gordon.

Funeral from the Hurley Currie Funeral Home, 127 South Franklin St. (Rt. 37), HOLBROOK on Wednesday, April 17th at 9:45am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church in Holbrook at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Tuesday, April 16th from 4-7pm. Interment MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
