Martin L. Hanscom

Martin L. Hanscom, 86 years old of Avon, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025 at South Shore Hospital.  Beloved husband for 58 years to Louise (Janigian) Hanscom.  Loving father of Carrie Hanscom of Brockton and Craig Hanscom of Wareham and grandfather of Gianna also of Wareham.  He is also survived by his sister, Faith Griesser, his brother, Mark Hanscom, and his cousin, Pamela (Bartol) Parente.

Marty was born in Marblehead and grew up in Salem, where he graduated from Salem High School.  He also attended Wentworth University and later worked at Haemonetics in Braintree until his retirement.  He served in the  United States Army Reserves and was proud to be in the honor guard.  Marty was gifted with the ability to fix anything and take something apart and put it back together without directions because they just confused him.  Among many of his interests, included traveling, boating, fishing, and scuba diving.  Marty was a true outdoorsman and lived his life to the fullest.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph, on Wednesday, September 3^rd from 4-7pm.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  Interment private.  The family respectfully requests that no flowers be sent for the services.
