Keith McKechnie
Passed on November 25, 2023
Resident of Avon, MA
Keith McKechnie, of Avon, passed away at the age of 45. Keith is the son of Karyll (Tebbetts) and the late George McKechnie. He came into this world right in the middle of the blizzard of 78. He was a lifelong resident of Avon. Graduated of Avon High School.
Keith loved family and tradition. He really enjoyed planning gatherings, in particular Thanksgiving and Easter. At Thanksgiving he always led the family in prayer and was always thankful for Karyll and family first.
Keith took great pride in his extensive Easter egg hunts that often times took place in the upper room. Keith loved to watch everyone search, grinning and saying “warm” or “cold” and cheering when someone found the golden egg containing the $20 scratch ticket!
Like Karyll, Keith loved to cook for people and enjoy his dishes together with everyone. Keith’s specialties included clams casino, caprese salad and 5 layer dip. He loved keys, tie-dye shirts, the Grateful Dead. He often referred to his Mom as his guardian angel. Keith produced many tie dyed tee shirts over the years and gifted them to friends and family bringing color and love into our lives. He was kind, organizing something at the church to give socks to the homeless on Mass Ave.
He is survived by his mother Karyll (Tebbetts) McKechnie, his brother Aaron McKechnie and wife Deeann of California, and his aunts and uncles and many cousins. Predeceased by his brother Jacob McKechnie, and his grandparents: Meryl (Baier) and Jesse Tebbetts, and Anne (Wright) and Robert McKechnie.
A memorial service will be held at the Avon Baptist Church in Avon on Tuesday, December 5th at 10am followed by a burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Avon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pine Street Inn via pinestreetinn.org.

Keith will always be remembered as a warm, kind and caring soul. He would always greet you with a warm smile. My thoughts and prayers to Karyll and Keith’s entire family. Keith will surely be missed by all who knew him. Rest in the sweetest peace my friend.
Growing up in Avon, Keith was very good friends with my son Jarrod. I taught them all in Sunday school and youth group. When Keith and his mom, made a reappearance several years ago in church, it didn’t take folks long to realize he was helpful, loved to cook, became part of the men’s club and involved himself in the life of the church.smiling all the while. He will be sadly missed.

Karyll, I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear son Keith. I am thinking of you and your family.
Keith, you will be missed, but not forgotten. You brought a lot of happiness and wonder to those around you, (and those distant, as well!) I enjoyed sharing recipes with you and getting to know you a little better on my last visit to MA. Although you left us too soon, I know you are enjoying your time now, with those loved ones we've lost over the years… Say "Hi" for me, and and always know, you are in our hearts! Until we meet again, cousin! ❤️?
Karyll and Aaron, Claudia and I, are always here, if we can be of any help through this time, or any other. We love you, always! ❤️?❤️?
