Josephine Calabrese Barra

Josephine “Jo” (Calabrese) Barra, of Middleboro, formerly of Randolph and Wareham, passed away November 30, 2016 after an illness. She was 72. Born in Boston, Josephine was raised and educated in Dorchester. She graduated from Dorchester High School and worked for many years at the Randolph Public Schools. Josephine enjoyed quilting, painting, and all things Elvis. She loved pulling practical jokes on her children and grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Paul J. Barra. Loving mother of Marianne Zielinski and her husband Robert of Bridgewater, Judy Moniz and her husband Jon of Raynham, and Paul Barra and his wife Jenna of Randolph. Devoted sister of Charles Calabrese of Plymouth and Guy Calabrese of Hanover. Dear nana of Jayden, Brandon, Brittany, Savana, Juliana, Joseph and Michael. She will be dearly missed by the family pets Harry, Maisy, Alex, Floyd and Maggie.

A memorial service will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Sunday December 4 at 1:00 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am. A Catholic mass will be said in her memory next month. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephine's memory to the American Heart Association.
