John J. Lally, of Brockton, formerly of Randolph, passed away July 20, 2025 at the age of 96. Beloved husband for 74 years of Patricia (Fitzgerald) Lally. Loving father of Kathryn Keene, Michael Lally, Maurean Lally, Mary Lombard, Jaqueline Hazel, Virginia Lally-Hughes, and Steven Lally. Brother of Mary Abeyta, Judy Sarto, and the late Raymond Lally, Michael Lally, Jaqueline Sears, and Patricia Mahoney. Also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John graduated cum laude from Fitchburg State in 1982 with a degree in Education. He worked as a mason and tile expert and was a teacher at Shawsheen Valley Vocational Technical School for 20 years. John also proudly served his country in the US Army in Germany, WWII.
John was an avid pool player, local baseball umpire, enjoyed vegetable gardening, made golf clubs, and learned any trade necessary to complete jobs around the house.
Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Saturday, July 26th at 10:45am followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church in Randolph at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 25th from 4-7pm. Interment private.

The joy this man brought to those who knew him was immeasurable. He was a man of many talents. He was humble, cool, impressive and an attractive guy. He always lead by example. He was lucky to have found the love of his life early in life. And to be able to have the joy of a large family. Which the two of them made seem easy. We thank him for his gift of joy he so easily shared.
Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family. Sorry for your loss.
John was a wonderful human being that we always enjoyed seeing whenever we visited our Mother. Our Mother lived across the street from John and Patsy for over 20 years. John and Patsy were dear friends of our Mother who also was from Massachusetts.
We send our love to Patsy and the whole Lally family during these difficult times.
