Carol A. Marsh

Carol A. Marsh, of Holbrook, passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 89 after a brief illness.  Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband Earl “Buck” Marsh, her brothers Howard and Richard Kelley, her parents Mary (Kavanagh) and Howard Kelley, her niece Kathy Kelley, and nephew Kevin Kelley.

She leaves behind her stepdaughter Gloria Marsh; nieces and nephews Paul, David, John, Mark, Deborah, Ann and Bryan Kelley; great-nieces and nephews Ariane Pagan, Parker Kelley, Trisha Kelley, Matthew Kelley, Emily Kelley and Evelyn Kelley; her late best friend Harriette Madden’s family;  Leslie,  Jim, Marife, Matthew, and her Godson Michael Madden of Pembroke;  and her longtime neighbors in The Grove, the late Ann and Al Phinney’s children Michelle Aiello, Diane Brownell, Allan and Donald Phinney.

Carol grew up in Milton and Quincy, graduating from Milton High School. She loved going to the family bakery (Kavanagh English Muffins). As a child, she grew up on a farm and carried her love of gardening throughout her life.  She spent a lot of time just putting around in her yard for spring clean-up and raking leaves in the fall. Carol also enjoyed a good lobster roll, a perfectly cooked corned beef and cabbage on Saint Patricks’ Day, and trips to the casino.

She loved her family and her numerous friends on the south shore. Her neighbors were a close-knit group of friends, more like family, who always had each other’s back.

Her sharp wit, kindness, and great laugh will be truly missed, as much as her intense loyalty to friends and family.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Currie Funeral Home, 127 S. Franklin Street, Holbrook, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10-10:30am followed by service at 10:30am.  Burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Hingham.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
