Anthony P. Sass, Jr.
Passed on April 11, 2025
Resident of East Bridgewater, MA
Anthony P. Sass Jr., 55, of East Bridgewater died unexpectedly on Friday April 11th. Anthony was raised in both Brockton and Randolph, a 1989 graduate of Blue Hills Regional Technical school. He went on to work various jobs until he became disabled in 1994. Preceded in death by his mother, Maureen (Hoar/ McDermott) Sass. He is survived by his father Anthony Sass of Brockton, his sister Gina (Sass) Foley, her husband Chris and his nephew Shane of East Bridgewater, his brother Richard DePaolo Jr. and his companion Chrissy Dugger of Walpole and his nephews, Ricky DePaolo of Stoughton, James Gloddy of Brockton, his great-nieces and great-nephew, and many cousins and the extended Sass Family.
Anthony enjoyed spending time with family. He shared a special bond with his nephew, Shane, whether swimming, watching sports and movies, throwing the football around and attending his sporting events it made him the happiest. In more recent years he was able to establish a strong relationship with his nephew Ricky, they shared their love of food and sports. Anthony had the greatest love for family including his K9 companions Addie, Freida and Mona who he loved to hang with while being “neighborhood watch” on the front porch. He enjoyed reading, watching a great movie and professional sports.
If you were his friend at any point in his life you knew who he was and what he stood for. Loyal and generous are words that describe him. He had your back no matter what. He once told me, his sister, that I was his best friend. It was always him and I against the world. He will be missed greatly.
There will be a private burial. If you’d like to pay your respects, please consider making a donation in his name to Sunny Paws Rescue at Sunnypawsrescue.org 508-468-7627
So very sorry for your loss. I remember Anthony from childhood days when my brothers and I would hang out with the “Sass” kids. So many good and so many funny memories. We are grateful for his love of dogs! Thinking of you during this difficult time.
A real friend he will be missed.
