Ann M. (Ripp) Holland

September 19, 1957 – February 9, 2025
Resident of Randolph, MA

Ann Marie (Ripp) Holland, 67, of Randolph passed away on February 9, 2025 after a monthslong battle with cancer. Ann was a beloved wife, mother, noni, sister and friend. Born in Somerville, MA on September 19, 1957, Ann was the eldest daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Maltacea) Ripp.

Ann is survived by her devoted husband of nearly fifty years, Edward Thomas Holland Jr.; her children, Tanya Holland, Savina Holland and Anthony Holland; her precious grandchildren, Ahlyus and Rosalie; her loving sister, Jacqueline Ripp; and too many adored cousins to name. Ann is predeceased by her special angel son Edward Thomas Holland III and her brother Joseph Edward Ripp.

A lifelong Randolph resident, Ann was a proud graduate of the RHS class of 1976. She was honored to have served as a class officer and was an enthusiastic member of the drill team. She spoke fondly of her time at RHS and felt fortunate to have formed so many lifelong friendships there.

Once Ann’s children grew to school age, she entered the workforce as a librarian at the Charles G. Devine elementary school in Randolph. She cherished her position there, and was immensely honored to have fostered a love of reading in her students. She also volunteered as a religious education teacher at the Saint Bernadette Catholic Church. Ann found it deeply rewarding to work with young children in these positions, and it brought her great joy to support, guide, and encourage them.

Ann will be remembered by many for her kindness and compassion. She lived selflessly in the service of others and used her empathetic nature to care for and help anyone in need. All who knew her have a story about her genuine thoughtfulness and nurturing spirit.

Ann’s family will also remember her steadfast strength after enduring the profound sorrow of losing a child. To maintain her gracious, kindhearted spirit in the face of such a loss is a testament to her unwavering faith and character. She was an amazing mother, wife, protector, supporter and friend, and the world is worse off for not having her in it.

She was loved, and she will be missed.

Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph, on Friday, February 14th at 9:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Bernadette’s Church in Randolph at 10am.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 13th from 4-7pm.  Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.

My condolences to her husband and family. Ann was a special person who always thought of others before herself. I believe she got that from of father who devoted much of his time to helping the youth in Randolph. Always smiling, Ann never complained and always had a great outlook. I was fortunate enough to know Ann from elementary school to High School. And while our paths went separate ways after school, I always enjoyed seeing Ann at reunions and on social media. I will miss her. Randolph has lost a favorite daughter.

Ed, Tanya, Savina, Anthony and family,

Words cannot express how devastated we are over the loss of Ann. To say she was a special woman is an absolute understatement. To know Ann was to love her and that certainly stood true for every person who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Ed & Ann, you were so good to my father and for that I am forever indebted to you both. You are the definition of what true friends should be and you helped my Dad through some very hard times. Nothing you did for him ever went unnoticed and I love you both for that more than you know.

Ann, I will miss our hair dates & long talks so very much. I’ll miss sitting on the deck and chatting for what seemed like the whole day. You were always so uplifting, encouraging and wanted to see everyone win in life. I looked at you with such admiration. The love you had for your family and the love they had for you.. a true matriarch. How lucky I’ll be if I end up being half the wife, mother and grandmother you were. They don’t make them like you anymore, Ann. I will miss you terribly and I’ll cherish our friendship forever.

    Deepest condolences,
    Sara Manning
