George V. Slack, Jr.

George V. Slack Jr., 78, passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2026.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 15, 1947, George spent more than 50 years as a proud resident of Randolph, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and service to others.
George was the beloved husband of Katherine “Kitty” Slack, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Together they built a loving family that remained the center of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Kitty; his daughter Marsha Miller and her husband, Larry Miller, of Taunton, and their daughter, Lauren Miller; his son, George Slack III and his wife, Barbara, of Lakeville, and their sons, George Slack IV and Andrew Slack; his grandson, John Slack Jr.; his daughter Jennifer Longabard of Norton and her sons, Evan and Nicholas Longabard; and his daughter Meredith Slack of Norton. He was predeceased by his beloved son, John Slack.
George proudly served his country in the United States Navy Air. Following his military service, he dedicated 27 years to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), beginning as a bus driver and later serving as an inspector, and was the Owner of Slack & Sons Trucking Co. He was respected for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to serving the public.
Above all else, George was devoted to his family. He treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments. A lifelong football fan, he enjoyed cheering on his favorite team, the Patriots, and sharing the excitement of the game with family and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need.
George leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and integrity that will continue through the family he cherished so deeply. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St., (Rt. 28), Randolph on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.
