Robert “Bob” O’Leary, of Holbrook, formerly of Roslindale, passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, due to complications after receiving a bone marrow transplant, at the age of 62.
Bob grew up in Roslindale. He worked for many years as a machinist and as a custodian at St. Joseph’s School. He most recently worked as a Maintainer at Bridgewater State University.
Bob will forever be known as a grill and Blackstone master. He loved cooking for his family and friends; his favorites being deep-fried turkey and chicken wings, and pancakes on the Blackstone. Those who knew him remember his love for the holidays, exterior and interior illumination, and quoting Christmas movies.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs. He loved building and creating things with his daughter, Molly. Bob was always known as “the idea guy”. He was also known for his quick wit and sarcasm. Bob was always the calming presence for his family, as his favorite quote was “it is what it is”.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Kelli (Murphy); his daughter, Molly O’Leary and her husband Kyle Ohrenberger. He was the son of the late Robert and Anne O’Leary. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters Catherine Morlock, Laureen Mollo, Elizabeth Barletta, John O’Leary, and Larry O’Leary; father and mother-in-law Edward Murphy and the late Mary-Jo Murphy; sister-in-laws Stacy Wright and Beth Principe. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Hurley Currie Funeral Home at 127 S. Franklin Street, Holbrook. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Church at 153 S. Franklin Street, Holbrook. Burial will be at a later date. Following the service, the family welcomes friends and loved ones to join them at the Weymouth-Braintree Lodge of Elks.

Bob was a kind honorable man with an odd but great sense of humor. He made himself a cozy comfortable little janitor’s closet .My condolences to his family and friends.
