Theresa A. (Wright) Tolson

Theresa A. (Wright) Tolson, a resident of Ashburnham, Mass., died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on December 24, 2025. A member of the 1971 graduating class of Randolph High School, where she was an enthusiastic member of the drill team, Theresa (Terry) later attended Blue Hills Regional Technical School, where she graduated at the top of her class as a dental assistant. Following that, Terry worked as an administrative professional for the Brewer and Lord Insurance Company in Boston, and, later, the John Rogers Insurance Company in Stoughton. She then briefly taught pre-school before becoming a mother, at which point she dedicated herself to being a full-time, stay-at-home mom.

In her youth, Terry loved to be outside and active. As a young adult, she pursued her childhood dream of becoming a ballet dancer—a passion that once brought her to Russia and Sweden for international performances and workshops. Throughout her life, Terry loved animals and enjoyed spending time outdoors as much as she could.

Loving and devoted wife of Richard Tolson, Terry was the caring mother of Shaun Tolson and his wife, Sarah. Daughter of the late Arthur Wright and Elizabeth Knights, she was the second oldest of five siblings and is survived by her sister Doreen and her brother David (she was predeceased by her brothers Arthur and Thomas). Terry is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 134 S. Main Street, Randolph, on Tuesday, December 30. Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a service at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, Terry’s family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
