Robert M. Johnston, of Avon, passed away on August 20, 2025 after a brief illness. Beloved husband for 66 years of Ruth (Monahan) Johnston. Loving father of Stephen Johnston and his wife Patricia of Brockton, Kenneth Johnston of Avon, Francis Johnston of Avon, and father-in-law of Birgitt Johnston. Cherished grandfather of Robert, Nicholas, Stephen, Tyler, Morgan, Peter, and Jordyn. Brother of Paul Johnston and his wife Suzanne. Predeceased by his son, Robert Johnston Jr., and his siblings, Barbara Miller and Kevin Johnston. Son of the late Robert and Catherine (Carter) Johnston of Hyde Park. Dear friend of Bill. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Robert enojoyed riding his Harley, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an Army Veteran and a retired Police Officer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph, on Friday, August 29th at 10:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael Church in Avon at 11am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 28th from 4-7pm. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.

I’m so sad to hear of Bob’s passing. It has been a privilege to know Bob and Ruth during their yearly visits to Florida. Bob will be dearly missed by all his friends down here.
