Marcia (Hathaway) Jakaitis

Marcia (Hathaway) Jakaitis of S. Easton, passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 81. Born and educated in New Bedford, Marcia grew up with her sister Roberta and her many cousins from her mother’s side.

She graduated from Cardinal Cushing Central High School in Boston, moved to Abington and worked in the financial environment until she met her future husband. She married Peter Paul Jakaitis of Quincy on January 13, 1968.  She loved getting flowers from her late husband.  Paul (died age 44 1980).

Together they had 3 children Robin C Jakaitis of S. Easton, the late Christopher P Jakaitis (died age almost 12 months 1972), and Andrew J Jakaitis and his wife Meghan Bogan of Tennessee. Marcia also leaves behind her siblings: Roberta Porter of Weymouth, Kevin Hathaway and his wife Jeanne in Halifax, James Hathaway and his wife Ruth of Hanson, and Ellen Hathaway Shave and her husband Kenton of Brockton. Grandmother of Sean MacClean, the late Samantha Jakaitis (died age 8 Christmas Day 1997), and Emma Jakaitis. Also so loved as Auntie Marcia, to many nieces as nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 South Franklin St. (Rte. 37) on Tuesday, July 22^nd from 10am-12pm followed by a service at 12pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  The Interment will be private at a later date.
