We miss “Aunt Nancy” and recall wonderful reunions over the years. She was Ralph’s Aunt, but Happy “adopted” her and both of us loved her.

Ralph lived in Quincy during his Dad’s absence in the Navy during WW II. I don’t remember living there as I was too young. My memories were of many subsequent visits with my Mom. Mom Simmons was “Gram” Olson’s daughter from her first marriage to a man who disappeared. Mom said he was a travelling salesman! Aunts Jackie and Nancy were from Gram’s second marriage to Ralph Olsen. Mom called him “Uncle Ralph” while Jackie and Nancy called him “Daddy.” There were several years difference between Mom and the two Aunts. Nancy took care of this Ralph (born in 1940) many times, “baby sitting” him. I do remember Nancy dealing with various suitors, and Gram and Mom speculating on who ultimately would win Nancy’s hand. Nancy had high standards. Her first marriage was to Donald Bush, who died unexpectedly. I visited them often at their home in Randolph. I recall the tragedy of Donald’s passing clearly. Nancy courageously raised five children, who all reflected her warm and independent personality. I also recall clearly Nancy’s and George Maloof’s wonderful marriage.

The generation of Mom, Aunt Jackie, and Aunt Nancy has now passed. We all miss them. I expect that Nancy has gone to meet with the Creator as promised by Jesus. Keep the faith, family.
    With love,
    Ralph & Happy
