George R. Marquart, Jr.

George R. Marquart, Jr., a 64-year resident of Randolph, passed away March 22, 2025 at the age of 95.  Beloved husband for 64 years of the late Catherine C. (Klaus) Marquart.  Loving father of Lynn Hannah (Steve) of VA, Nancy Milby of FL, Robert Marquart (Roberta) of SC, Karen Moran of Randolph, and William Marquart (Debra) of Kingston.  Cherished grandfather of Christopher Moran, Shawn Moran, KC Marquart, Emma Marquart, Olivia Marquart, Jennifer Cardwell, Joshua Scott, Austin Hannah, and Rachael Hannah, and great-grandfather of Christopher Moran, Jr., Zander Moran, Tyler Scott, and Gil Cardwell.

George was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Queens, NY by his late parents George and Alice (Perdue) Marquart.  He retired from the federal government, Department of Defense.  After retiring, he worked at Atlas Liquors for over 20 years, only stopping at age 91 due to the Covid pandemic.  He was a longtime member of Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton, having the distinction of scoring a hole-in-one.

George was also a huge Frank Sinatra fan, seeing him in person many times.  He actually received sympathy cards in the mail when Old Blue Eyes passed away.  Although he was born and raised in NY, he became a New England sports fan after moving to MA.  He enjoyed nothing more than watching the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics games on TV and getting into lengthy conversations about them.
