Gary J. Demers

Gary J. Demers, born on May 8, 1960 in Boston, MA had passed away due to cancer at the young age of 64 on October 31, 2024.  Gary is survived by his wife, Diana, and their son Joseph, and their daughter Danielle and her husband, Cody Murphy.

Gary is also survived by his mother, Eileen (Reynolds) Demers, his brother Albert Demers, his sister Judy Ochs and her husband Rick, his younger brother Bill Demers and his wife Julie, and grandsons, Derrick Demers and Noah Murphy.  Preceded in death by his father, Albert L. Demers, stepfather Gerard “Jerry” Demers, and brother Robert “Bobby” Demers.

Gary took great pride in being someone who could always fix, repair, and assemble anything. The highlight of his career was working as a Facilities Supervisor at Harrison Specialty, in Canton, MA for 26 years. He was in charge of high-pressure steam boiler systems, plant HVAC, pneumatic, plumbing, fire protection systems, plant production and warehouse equipment, and the list goes on. He was very passionate about his work at Harrison.

Gary was an avid Patriots fan. He would always ask his grandson Derrick, “do you know what today is?”, and he would yell out “it’s football Sunday!” He also loved to go fishing when he could to pass the time. Gary’s friend, Dan Meadows, took him out to go fishing one last time in the beginning of September, and he was so happy.

Visiting hours will be held at Hurley Currie Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St., Holbrook, on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 10am-12pm followed by a service at 12pm.
